for my mom's birthday, my dad got her an ipad.
it really is the perfect gift for her, since she is a decorating blog fanatic
and now she can take her blogs anywhere she goes!
so i decided to make a little case for her ipad, to protect it when its in her purse.
i still haven't perfected the pattern (it's reeeally a tight squeeze to fit it in through the zipper)
but hey, that's what prototypes are for!
and i'm not sure if the zipper is going to stay or go.
thoughts?
so i've been toying with lots of new products lately,
creating prototypes, tweaking versions, doing a lot of seam ripping...
but i thought who better to ask than you:
what would YOU like to see in my shop?
is there something that you would love to see done in the pleated poppy style?
i am all ears!
not that i have any extra time,
but new designs are always so fun to work on into the wee hours of the night.

More bloom bags! I want one just like the mustard canvas one you had in a giveaway a while back. It's not a new prototype but hey, it's worth an ask!
ReplyDeletewhat about a tens unit bag. The medical ones are ugly. Hot water bottle cover? Binki bag? Rice bag cover? OOOR what about a washable 9x13 casserole cover. I hate plastic wrap when you take a nice dessert to a church potluck? Bible cover? travel case for a flat iron? Hot cup warmers?
ReplyDeleteWhat about a diaper holder. I only carry 2 diapers and a pkg of travel wipes. It would be nice to have a pretty one. I really like the IPad holder. If I had one, I could hide mine from my 2 year old. Ha. What about a velcro closure on top or a fabric covered button with a loop? The best part of using the IPad when blogging -- scrolling through a blog page at warp speed.......love it!
ReplyDeleteLove the ipod case! I think you should do away with the zipper and do an envelope style closure with the button/loop. So cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat about a laptop bag? I would looooove one!
Ashley and Amber were just saying they would love laptop bags!! And I was just on ETSY looking for Bible covers - hmmmm you might be on to something :) lv ya!
ReplyDeleteI like Karen's idea of a diaper holder, just big enough for a couple of diapers and travel wipes. I have moved away from the diaper bag and just carry a few things in my purse, but don't like finding a diaper (clean) smashed up at the bottom of my purse. Love the iPad cover! Now I just have to get an iPad! :-)
ReplyDeleteyep, ditch the zipper. what about some sort or magnetic closure or just nothing at all.
ReplyDeletecamera strap covers! I'd love one in the pleated poppy style. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your zippered pouches, but I want one just to hold a few chapsticks that always get lost in the bottom of my purse and I'm not sure if the ones on your website are a little too big for what I'm hoping for or not. Maybe a smaller zippered pouch?
ReplyDeleteMy Pleated Poppy Wish List: Belts!!! Laptop Bag, Camera Strap, Over the Shoulder Hippy Pocketbook. Hopefully, this is not too much ;)Alyssa
ReplyDeleteWhat about a pillow cover? You could do a plain fabric then add the posey pin or peatal pusher of your choice? Or fabric rings are really pretty too. I also like the diaper and wipes case idea.
ReplyDeletethat is awesome. i-touch covers? what about posy pins like the ones you put on your daughters shoes for her bday (they were pink and it looked like you added tulle to them)
ReplyDeletehow about posy pin curtain pull backs?
My first thought was using an elastic loop w/ a cute button closure....very cute-love the fabric!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I'd love a little vendor apron for when I do art fairs..... ;)
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to buy an IPAD cover for my Mom!!! Let us know when you start selling them!!
ReplyDeleteI would love more of your purses! I'm DYING for one this Fall!!
I just bought an ipad and a slim case, but I would love a pretty bag to put it in. Nothing bulky, but with a strap!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see a ruffled wristlet or clutch
ReplyDeleteI have an iPad and my case is great. I love the way it functions. It is like a book cover and the closure slides in. I would love to see a similar version in your cute fabrics/designs. Here is my cover:

I'd love to see a wallet or clutch item. Maybe more bloom bags too!! hugs Becky
ReplyDeletehey lindsey. yeah i would ditch the zipper. my bro taught me that on items like that the zipper can scratch the screen. but that case is stinkin adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteplease, please, please put more bloom bags and a variety of sizes of purses in your shop. i would also love a little notebook cover (to hold little legal pads) and long, round pencil cases.
ReplyDeleteall of your stuff is just fabulous! i so wish i could sew.
(also if you wanted to do some giveaways we wouldn't mind. just saying :)
Love the diaper holder idea.
ReplyDeleteDiaper bag.
Wet bag for diaper bag.
Teacher tote.
I would buy one of each at least :)
I just have to say, I don't have an iPad, but seeing your case above makes me want to buy one just so I could get this case. So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAnything you do new will be beautiful! I can't wait to see what you come up with.
ReplyDeleteI like the zipper, or some type of closure that prevents the crumbs and ickies at the bottom of purses from getting in. My iPod touch collects debris from my purse and it bugs me - but maybe my purse just needs a good cleaning ;) The case is DARLING!
ReplyDeleteHey Lindsey! Loving your blog and sewing crafts. I'm a seamstress myself :) Just a thought on the ipad, omit the zipper and do a fold over with a button. My hubby has an Ipad and is picky about scratching it. Just a thought :) Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI would love a bag to put my 9 inch mini laptop in. My ideal bag would have a strap and a pleated pocket for the cord to live in. I agree that a foldover is better than a zipper.
ReplyDeleteBloom bags! and I would love to see home decor stuff like pillow covers and table runners!
ReplyDeleteI would love to see a cover for an iPhone. Also a padded one for a laptop would be great.
ReplyDeleteOH my gosh! This is SO cute!! :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with the ladies who said laptop cases. What about a soft camera case for a larger camera, (i.e. canon rebel). A lot of times I put my camera in my purse vs. the camera bag and it would be nice to be able to protect it from items that could scratch the screen.
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric you used on the ipad cover!!! SO cute!! Where do you find your beautiful fabrics???
ReplyDeleteHi...your Mom will love her ipad. I sure loveiay ne. I took it 3g for the first time when we went to the cabin earlier this month. What a great way to stay connected. About the ipad case....love it....and KEEP the zipper. I have a case I bought from gigi hill, and it is a wee bigger than the ipad, as it was not designed for the ipad, I just thought it would be perfect for it, so I bought it. I like the zipper! It gives more added security to keep it put. I was thinking of making one myself for mine, quilting the fabric, because the padding is also nice for such an expensive toy. I do have the apple case too, which gives it a bit of protection as well.
ReplyDeletethat is really cute! don't you just love making stuff for your mom?
ReplyDeletei also vote for the fold over vs. the zipper.
I love the ipad cover! No zipper needed. An envelope closure or button with loop would work perfectly! How about a smaller case for a small camera? I'm tempted to try on of your smaller bags for mine, but don't know if there is enough padding.
ReplyDeletethe ipad cover is so lovely! i made a zippered case recently for a NOOK (kindle-like). the zipper was requested to keep things out of the pouch, so just a thought...
ReplyDeletediaper holder idea - gold.
ReplyDeletepleated poppy style ipod/iphone case - also gold.
Love the ipad cover!! I would love to get one from you, but I don't have a ipad. I would love to see smaller purses like messenger bags in your shop. Pillows would be great too!! Have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteDiaper bags! Different styles -- something small that could pose as a purse later and something bigger to "hold it all." With a washable, portable diaper changing pad.
ReplyDeleteOr, cute aprons for women.
What about an envelope style top that flops over and ties or buttons or velcros? That would be sweet on this ipad case!

hi angie!
ReplyDeletei get almost all of my fabric from hawthornethreads.com. look up on my sidebar and you can click on their link!
I have an iPad with a cover, the zipper comes down on the corners to allow for a bigger opening. It still fits really snug, so my charger barely fits in when I travel. My suggestion is an envelope opening with Velcro and a small exterior pocket with button for charger.
ReplyDeletei love the ipad cover! if you decide against the zipper, maybe an envelope closure would work, you could use some velcro, a button, or a snap for the closure. i would suggest sewing in a magnet but that's probably not a good idea with electronics. the ruffle could then come out of the edge of the flap. can't wait to see what you come up with!
ReplyDeletei would love a cute little cover for my ipod nano. ;)
oh, and more bloom bags. LOVE the mustard one that you use. i want one for fall!
ReplyDeleteI would have to have another petal drop necklace if you started offering them on an antiquey silver chain as well as the copper. Bigger variety of hand bags, belts, home decor would all be great!
ReplyDeleteJust found yuor shop & blog from Babbling Abby i'm so glad because you have great stuff!!! I love the iPAD case -- great idea! If you made HP mini covers i'd totally buy one! I really need a little slip cover for mine to be able to carry it in my bag without it getting stratched by the randomness in my bag. I agree with others.. maybe velcrow instead of a zipper.. or a button. I would love the button or toggle idea. :)

I think you have had enough suggestions about the ipad cover. It is cute though. I emailed you before asking if you had something to hold just a few diapers and a wipe case. I just got your one of your zippered pouches and am loving it. I would LOVE to see a zippered pouch big enough for those diapers. Anyway if I could do a zipper I would do one myself....but I can't and so I hope you will...your stuff is so cute. Thanks for making my purse a bit cuter.
ReplyDeletekindle covers, my new one is being shipped out today!!
ReplyDeleteI love this ipad case, but I think you should use a flap with a button instead. I am thinking that the zipper might break in the long run or might even scratch the ipad some how.
ReplyDeleteVote for the fold over with button loop closure and lined with something soft. Love the fabric and design. And love, love the relationship you have with your mom :)
ReplyDeleteLove the iPad case but no zipper and no magnet. Magnets disrupt some of the iPad functions. (sorry if I'm repeating anyone above) I agree with the fold over style with a button closure. Ver cute.
ReplyDeleteI love this!! I want to get my iPad soon so I can have something like this!!!
ReplyDeleteI would buy that exact iPad case if it were in your shop today. I've been looking for something just like that for mine!
ReplyDeletei would LOVE to see a kindle cover!
ReplyDeleteDiaper bags! I haven't been able to find a unique one with lots of pockets or details.
ReplyDeleteyou know - I think ties for little (or big!) guys would be fabulous! [in fun, unconventional "tie" fabrics] {little guy ties!} ... I don't even have any kids yet, but I think some more for the boys would be a good idea. (I know a lot of handmade goods are geared toward the girls)
ReplyDelete...even daddy/son tie sets?
CUTE! I think a cover for a dayplanner or Bible cover would be AWESOME!!! I take my covered notebook everywhere and I get compliments all the time...I would love to style up my dayplanner and Bible too :)
ReplyDeleteI would love more Bloom Bags. How about a hipster style bag, lunch bags, tissue holder(travel size), sets with various sizes of bags, and a large tote with some kind of closure. I like(your) bags so anything would suit me :)
ReplyDeleteI second Hayley's suggestion ... Bible covers!
